Hello Florida, here we come
On our way out of Georgia we planned to visit a southern plantation, which was closed. Instead, we took a longer drive to Florida through the country sides of Georgia and realized this was the place you can see the economy situation more than any other place we have been to so far. Ghost towns with dozens of closed businesses and just empty stores for lease are pretty much standing in the middle of nowhere. As opposed to other country sides we have seen that all had farms with agricultural lives and lots of animals (especially those who are part of the beef industry) this place has no farms, so we couldn’t even tell how they make a living. Anyway – once we crossed the border to Florida things seemed much more optimistic with the palm trees and water fountains everywhere. We spent the night in Jacksonville, and since Omri wanted to play at 23:00 we went for a late night meal at the lobby of the Hampton Inn, much to the surprise of the people at the front desk. And yet, we still made it to breakfast the next morning :)
