Old McDonald had a farm
Today we left Louisville and headed to Nashville. The farms on the way were enormous and beautiful with lots of animals running around, different from the Amish mainly in size (much more spread out and secluded) but still have fences so that the animals would stay in the land, and also have usually smaller trees. From what we’ve noticed – southern houses have larger windows and fewer trees – possibly a reflection of the culture. We’ll let you know when we become more familiar with it. On our way we stopped at Abraham Lincoln’s birth place, still in Kentucky to our surprise, and got to know some of the background of his life. Quite a remarkable man, one of many we get to meet in this trip, but in his case – he had a harsh and unforgiving childhood and still rose to greatness. Would you think he grew up in Kentucky? (it was his early childhood only by the way…much to their pride). Anyway, after getting slightly philosophical about life, and thinking about former and future generations, we headed for a fun and hilarious new atmosphere – Howdy Y’all – it’s Nashville!
